It’s fascinating how much worse the Houston Texans have gotten this off season. They were a few solid defensive pieces away from being a legit Super Bowl contender.
But in a span of about a month they traded away their star wide receiver (Deandre Hopkins) because he wanted a raise, then took on a contract of an injury prone running back (David Johnson. Side note, he’s due $12 Million, which is double what Todd Gurley signed for in free agency with the Atlanta Falcons.) Houston also handed out a ridiculously overpriced contract to Randall Cobb for no reason. And to make matters worse, they just traded for a wide receiver (Brandin Cooks) who is, despite his production, wildly overpaid. This after not wanting to sign Hopkins to a contract extension.
It’s come to the point where they might have to cut Kenny Stills in cap maneuvering, whom they traded for last off season in a deal that involved a first round pick. It’s hard to believe Bill O’Brien was a part of the Patriots organization for a point in time honestly because he has just blown his team up for no reason.
